Secret of the Stole II

Well i have joined a new group, as you can tell from the title it is the KAL from the Nautical Knitter. I was not able to join the first one but when i found out about the new one i joined as soon as I could. I have ordered yarn from Knitpicks and I hope it will be here soon. I will be getting enough for a couple of shawls or stoles. I'm not sure if I will dye the yarn before or after.I have saw people dye their finished product and it turn out good. I'm just so unlucky that something would go very, very wrong. I also have a couple of new Addi Turbos on the way here. I hope they will be here in time to start on the stole. I am heading up to visit family in North Carolina on the fourth and my packages should be here when I come back. Well that's about it for now.

I'm Back

Well finaly some updates after a long time. My Jaywalkers are finished and so are a pair of Monkey's. I am working on a hat and mitten set for my daughter and also another blanket for her bed. It is really bright. Pinks and purples, her room is Dora everything. Not bad as long as you dont mind everything pink and purple. My son is doing better now. We found out about a week ago that he has asthma and has been put on two inhalers. He is doing so much better. Well here are the pics of my FO's.

My Marine

family pics 184
This is the man that gave me two great children and helps in any way he can.
He has babied me the past couple of days not letting me get up off the couch to do anything. I am thankful everyday that he is here to help me and just cuddle up on the couch and do nothing. This is my Marine. I love him and what he stands for.

One month and a big post...

Well it has been a very busy month for the family. Our son started to walk the day my husband came home from Japan. That in itself is a huge change. My hubby and I went on a Cruise to the Cayman's and to Jamaica. It was great, just what we needed. Some peace and quite and adult time. This is my favorite pic of the trip and it is from Jamaica.Jamaica 057
I have also been knitting alot in the free time. Here is an update on the Jaywalkers I started a while back. One is finished and the other is almost to the toe.

I have knit a couple of washcloths which will be sent out with a couple of charity projects.

The ball band washcloth. Also a washcloth from a group on yahoo.hey 032
My husband asked me for a pair of boot socks as his are getting holes in them. This is the first knitted item he has asked for besides a red, white and blue blanket. One sock is done and the second has been cast on. The other sock in the pic is a sock for another group on yahoo. I am starting the heel on that tonight.

It looks like I will have alot more time to knit in the next couple of weeks. This is what I did yesterday on the way out to a cook out.hey 035
Cast material all the way from my toes up almost to my knee and Ace bandages wrapped all the way around. I am waiting ont the radiologist to see my X-Ray to see if I need a hard cast or not. The ER doctor said he could tell that I have torn muscles and other tissues in my foot and ankle. They told me I will probably have to come back in and get a cast because he thinks I have fractured a couple of bones. It looked like I had two ankles. On that note I will go and prop my foot up again and have hubby pamper me for a while.

So many issues

Well I am back at my house on base. Thank God. It has been long awaited. I had to go a meeting at the Chapel on base for a brief about our Marines coming home from deployment. Right now it is set for 0400 on the 17Th of January. If you are not used to that time it just means four a.m. That is way to early for me. Don't get me wrong I want to see my husband again but we have two small children. If he will be back at four a.m. that means that I will have to have the kids up and ready by three thirty in the morning. As anyone with children know that is not a good time for a two and a half year old and a one year old. Normally we would all be asleep at that horrible time. One to the issues at hand. I haved just had my phone turned on again and now am able to get onto the internet so that I can get back on to blog. I had a huge amount of email to go through. I have already went through atleast half of my mail and I still have atleast 150 emails to look at. Not much progress on the knitting frount. The kids were sick for the past weeek and have now passed it on to me so that I can enjoy the bug that they had. I am not sure what it is although it seems like a misture of the flu and a stomach viris. Just enought to put me out of commison for a couple of days. Well off to see if I can get my cranky babies in bed with out too much screaming and crying on their part.

9 Days To Go!!!

My husband will be home in a little over nine days from now. I am trying to get everything ready for when he gets home. I need to trim my daughters bangs because they are starting to get into her eyes again. She had her first really hair cut about a month ago. Before then the only thing that had been done to her hair was to have here bangs trimmed. Well my order from Knit Picks should be in soon. I ordered a skein of Bare Superwash Fingering Weight yarn, a bag for my sock knitting, and two different colors of Jacquard Acid Dyes. I have never dyed anything before so I am hoping that it will turn out good. I have recently joined a couple of different groups on yahoo. I am also working on two pairs of socks for the group Socks for Soldiers. I have not been able to get too much knitting done the past couple of months because it seems like one thing after another has happened to stop me. First my daught was attacked by a pit bull and had to go to the ER. She is OK but she has two scars on her right cheek. The one that is near her mouth looks like a dimple. It evened her out, she only had one dimple on her left cheek like her dad but the dog bite put one on her right side also. Then I almost broke my arm when I fell in the rain. Since then all of my family has been sick atleast twice. Then the holiday season has been very sad and busy for me this year. I am just very happy that my husband will be home soon. Well the kids are asleep now so I am going to try to get some things done that I have put off today.

My Jaywalker in progress.

I guess my will power is almost nonexistent . I cast on for my first Jaywalker last night and so far love it. This seems like it might be a sock that fits me. I really like the pattern and it is very easy to follow. I think that I am making pretty good progress on it. I have some new photos of the progress but for some reason I just can't seem to get the color exactly right. There is more green in the yarn then what is showing up.
knitting 005
I think that one shows the stitchs pretty good.
knitting 002
This one is almost the right color. I have knit a little more then on this photo but not too much more. I really did not need to cast on for anything else because I have so many already on the needles, but every time I looked at the yarn I knew I really wanted to knit this into a Jaywalker. So here it is, hope you like.

Another day down...

11 days to go. I am not going back to my house today like I thought I would. My kids have so much stuff from Christmas that it is taking me forever to get everything packed and actually fit it into my car. I drive a Civic hatchback. When you add into that two car seats for the kids a cooler, my knitting things and all of the clothes and toys from Christmas it just won't fit. My mother is following me down to help bring all of it back to my house and try to squish it all in. I guess I am lucky that our house has so much room otherwise I would be in trouble. Well I think that I may have been drawn into wanting to knit a pair of Jaywalkers. I bought a hank of sock yarn a couple of days ago that I absolutely love and think that they will look great in that color. I thought that I would try to get some pics of the kids up on here.
Here is my son DSC00847-1

and here is my daughter.

These little munchkins are a big part of where my kitting goes to. My daughter wakes up every morning and asks if daddy will be home today. I am now starting on one of my new year's resolutions. I am going back on my diet. I need to loose about 40lbs. Two kids in two years is not very easy on a woman's body. Oh well off to go debate on if I should cast on for the Jaywalker's or not.

Happy New Year and back home we go...

Happy New Year to everyone. This morning I have to start getting everything packed up and into the car so me and the kids can head home. We have been in North Carolina visiting family for the holidays because my husband is in Japan with work. The date has pretty much been set for when he will come home. They have told him to expect to come home on January 13Th 2007. So we are on the countdown now, less than two weeks now. The kids are getting really excited now that daddy will be home soon. I am ready for this deployment to be over and done with. It seems like it has taken forever. It has only been six months, which is really not a long time but my husband was not here for our third wedding anniversary, Thanksgiving our sons first birthday the beginning of December and he also missed Christmas. We did save all of the presents that we have bought for them ourselves and they will open them when my husband gets back. While up in North Carolina I have bulked up my stash more. Which I will say in defense of myself that all of what I have bought I already know what I am going to do with it. A couple of sweater for the kids, a scarf, hat and wrist warmer set for myself. I also have knit a couple of Booga Bag's but have not had the chance to felt them. I also bought some Cherry Tree Hill sock yarn in blue, green and purple. I am going to try to knit them on two circular needles. The trip to the yarn store brought about a $74 purchase. I only walked out with four things. Two 24" size 1 Addi turbos, the sock yarn and the book to teach me how to do it. This is all for now, I have to run off and see to my little ones.
